Thanks to Colonel John Strand (ret) for this insight on the change the army is exploring not projecting. It's a shame more reporters aren't schooled enough to report on this level of system thinking and ethical/moral insught. Your army is looking ahead without the Military Industrial complex in the audience.
Personal insight .... the socio structure implied in most of these questions should be an eye opener for people who have a cookie cutter stereotype of tutonic military minds.

Washington — Climate change will pose profound strategic challenges to the United States in coming decades, raising the prospect of military intervention to deal with the effects of violent storms, drought, mass migration and pandemics, The New York Times reported.
Citing military and intelligence analysts, the newspaper said climate-induced crises could topple governments, feed terrorist movements or destabilize entire regions.

Jim allows only three annual excursions from Hawaii to speak or counsel with leaders. The normal way to secure his advice is by webcam. A lesser quality exchange is by telephone for radio purposes. Using his illustration skills and arsenal of graphic maps he is best in his studio with access to white boards where he illustrates live or pulls out prepared charts and streams the video live.
An alternative is to e-mail jim questions which he can answer on HDTV and mail a DVD back for editing with the interviewer. The preferred magazine interviews occur with jim on his model eco-homestead so an authentic context is available for reference. All rates are consistent with professional industry standards.
